As a small mostly rural province, Nova Scotia has a lot of little towns and villages. In fact, Nova Scotia only has one city. If you say “The City” everyone knows that you mean Halifax. Similarly, if you say “The Valley” everyone knows that your mean the Annapolis Valley.
Because of Nova Scotia’s geography, many of our towns and villages are coastal. So, that means there are there are lively waterfronts to explore, working wharfs to visit, beautiful buildings to admire and of course, loads of restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, etc.
Smaller towns, like Lockeport, for example have fishing wharfs and beaches. Others, like Shelburne or Lunenburg have historical architecture and lovely waterfronts.
