Booking Your Cottage

Booking a Sandy Lane Cottage is easy.  Browse through the listings and select the cottage that works best for you. The calendar is conveniently displayed on each page for you to check availability. Select the Book this Cottage button.   Depending on the cottage, this button will either open a Sandy Lane Booking Form or you will be directed to the cottage’s listing on Airbnb.

For Airbnb listing, select your dates, fill in your information and submit your booking via Airbnb.  The Airbnb host will contact you via Airbnb.

For Sandy Lane listings, select your dates and choose which payment option you prefer and fill in the Booking Request Form and press submit.  You will receive a confirmation email indicating that your booking request has been received. The calendar should be up to date, but to avoid computer error and double bookings, I like to check the dates personally.

Payment Options

Pay 50% Reservation Deposit upon booking request acceptance with remaining funds due 60 days prior to arrival.

Pay full amount upon booking request acceptance.

Reservation Deposit

A 50% reservation deposit is required to secure your booking.  Your booking is not confirmed until this deposit has been received.

Final Payment

If you have chosen to reserve your cottage with a 50% Reservation Deposit, the balance of the rental fee is due 60 days prior to your arrival. Upon final payment you will receive confirmation with a detailed information package that includes driving directions and information on where to find the key.  Arrival is at your convenience anytime after 4:00 p.m.

Last Minute Reservations

If you make your reservation within 60 days of your arrival date, full payment is due at time of booking.

Taxes

All vacation rentals are subject to HST.  The nightly rate displayed on the calendar does not include HST.  HST is added to the subtotal at time of check out.

How to Pay

We accept the following payment methods:  Email Transfer, Bank Wire or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars. We do not accept Credit cards.  If you have a Canadian bank account, you can easily pay by e-transfer.  For non-residents guests, payment is by bank wire.  Bank details will be provided at time of payment. Unfortunately, we cannot accept money orders or cheques in any other currency.  Please note there is a $25.00 charge for NSF cheques.

Damage Deposit Waiver Fee

We know accidents happen.  So to deal with this we charge a $55 non-refundable Damage Deposit Waiver fee for all reservations.  This fee is in lieu of charging an additional $500 security deposit fee to the property rental rate.  The waiver covers all minor accidental damage or breakage up to $500.

Coverage does not cover loss, theft, extraordinary cleaning charges, damage resulting from negligence or willful or wanton conduct or damage by a pet (in those properties that allow pets) or loosing the key. Guests must notify the Sandy Lane Enterprises Ltd. at once of any damage during occupancy and submit a written report or the Damage Deposit Waiver is void. For reservations of which the rental amount is over $2500 weekly, an additional refundable security deposit may be required.

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel your cottage rental reservation; your cancellation notice must be made in writing – either by fax, email or mail.

  • For cancellations received between 30 and 60 days prior to your arrival date, 50% of the total rental fee is forfeited. 
  • For cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the arrival date, 100% of the total rental fee is forfeited.

I will make every effort to re-rent the property, however I cannot guarantee re-rental.  No-shows, late arrival and early departures after arrival are all non-refundable. It might be a good idea to purchase trip cancellation insurance if you are concerned about needing to cancel for any reason.
