There is so much to see and do in Nova Scotia! Way more than I have outlined on these activities pages. So here is a little taste of all that is waiting for you in Nova Scotia. One thing you will realize quickly is that the Nova Scotia experience is more about getting out into nature and experiencing the wonders of this beautiful part of the world and less about outlet mall shopping or theme parks. We are fine with that.
Nova Scotia has a breadth of activities to try. So, no matter what your taste is for adventure there is something for you. From bird watching to beach combing; hiking to biking; sailing to kayaking; there are lots of attractions, activities and things to see and do in Nova Scotia.
You could attend one of our many colourful festivals and events. Or, spend an afternoon soaking up the sun on one of our deserted white sandy beaches. Maybe take in a round of golf. If you are lucky, you could watch as bald eagles glide gracefully overhead. Visit our museums and discover the rich heritage of our maritime history. Explore one of the many lighthouses that dot our shoreline. Find the perfect souvenir as you wander around the boutique shops and galleries of our historic towns and villages. Stop for a quick lunch or after a busy day exploring, a leisurely dinner at one of our many cafes and restaurants. Of you could try something completely different: axe throwing, crabbin at Keji, or star gazing at an observatory. It’s all here.
Whatever you do – don’t forget your camera, because there are thousands of pictures to be taken! Browse the listings below for some suggestions for things to see and do along Nova Scotia’s South Shore.
“Fantastic Place to Reset”
“Wow, what a wonderful time we had! This beautiful cottage was exactly what we needed. The views are incredible and the amenities are so convenient. We stayed here for a couple of weeks in September. The weather was lovely and the surrounding environment was peaceful. We spent a lot of our time lounging on the main deck, observing the ocean and the wildlife. At nighttime the second level deck is an incredible place to view the stars. We played sports on the surrounding lawn and took walks (and swam!) at the nearby beaches. Great place for bike riding and jogging as there is little to no traffic. We were able to cook every meal at the cottage with a very well equipped kitchen. We especially loved having access to the extensive library both up and downstairs-lots of classics! Overall a fantastic place to reset and take it slow.”
“Great Design Only Bettered By The View”
The beach house is one of the most luxurious and beautiful places we’ve stayed at and we’ve stayed at a few! Great design only bettered by the view.
“Amazing”
River’s End Cottage is in excellent condition and is very modern and comfortable. We walk to the beach in under three minutes from the path at the back of the yard. The kids loved jumping off the old rail bridge into the ocean. Careful the old bridge has some rough spots and the current can be strong when the tide is coming in.We had deer come right up to the deck. Helen at Sandy Lane was really organized and very easy to deal with. The cottage comes with lots of information about locale attractions and dinning. The cottage is secluded and as peaceful as it gets. Can’t wait to come back
