By Land:

Nova Scotia is connected to the rest of North America by the Trans Canada Highway that enters the province via New Brunswick.

By Air:

The Halifax International Airport is the Atlantic Canadian hub for all domestic, regional and international services.   Scheduled air service into Nova Scotia is available from all major Canadian cities, from all major cities in the United States through connecting hubs at Boston and Newark, and from major European cities through the connecting hub at London. In addition, scheduled charter services are available linking Nova Scotia with many Canadian and European cities.

By Sea:

There are 4 car ferries services that connect Nova Scotia to Canada and the USA.  Reservations are recommended for all crossings.

Arrival By Sea from Portland, USA
The Cat Ferry travels between Portland, Maine and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
NOTE: Yarmouth is approximately 60 miles / 95 km or a 1 hour drive to Shelburne

Arrival By Sea from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
The MV Fundy Rose travels between Saint John, New Brunswick and Digby, Nova Scotia.
NOTE: Digby is approximately 125 miles / 200 km or 2.5 hours drive to Shelburne

Arrival by Sea from Newfoundland, Canada
The Marine Atlantic Ferry travels from Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland and North Sydney, Nova Scotia.
NOTE:  North Sydney is approximately 400 miles / 644 km or 7 hours drive to Shelburne

Arrival By Sea From Prince Edward Island, Canada
The Northumberland Ferry travels between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia.
NOTE: Caribou is approximately 240 miles / 390 km or 4.5 hours drive to Shelburne
