Sandy Point Lighthouse: Guarding Shelburne Harbour

This attractive lighthouse, which originally was built on a pier, now sits on a crib at the east side of the entrance to Shelburne Harbour. At low tide the tapered wooden tower is accessible across a sand bar.

Sandy Point Lighthouse Park and Community Centre is used for community events such as breakfasts and lobster suppers. There is a small beach and a few picnic tables in the park. The lighthouse is just offshore from the park. At low tide it is possible to walk out along the sandspit to the lighthouse
