Beautiful, Wild and Remote
Blanche beach is beautiful, wild and remote. Located at the very end of the Blanche peninsula it is well off the beaten track, and consequently it is almost always deserted. About half a km in length, this sheltered crescent shaped beach is a mix of fine white sand and rolled beach stones. There are a few neighbours in the area that you may see taking their dogs for a walk or going for an evening stroll themselves.
I don’t get out to Blanche Beach that often. There are so many beaches to choose from, so consequently, I tend to stick to ones that are a bit closer to home. However, I do make a point to take a stroll on the beach every time I go out to check on one of the cottages that I have the area. No matter the time of year, it is always striking. Completely unspoiled, the beach is a canvas at the hand of nature: storms, wind and surf all leave their mark. It is remarkable, I have only ever met one person walking on the beach. So, if you really want to experience solitude by the sea, pack a picnic and head over to Blanche Beach.
