Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is the largest art museum in Atlantic Canada and an anchor of Nova Scotia’s cultural tourism. The Gallery is home to iconic artworks that reflect Nova Scotia’s culture to the world, as well as a showcase for temporary exhibitions that highlight the art of this region and this country.

 

In 2023, I took my eldest son to see the Maud Lewis retrospective exhibit.  Maud Lewis is probably Nova Scotia’s most recognizable artists.  Famous in her lifetime for her brightly coloured and endearing paintings of rural Nova Scotia. This exhibition highlighted her  achievements.   Maud’s small; painted house is on permeant display at the gallery.
