I cannot begin to tell you how FABULOUS our experience has been!!! We rented the Castaways Ocean Lodge and Helen facilitated EVERY step of the booking!!! The cottage and views are breathtaking and the amenities make you feel like you're walking into your own place! Everyone who stays here clearly is very respectful and tidy as the entire place is clean and in wonderful condition! Simply second to none....thank you soooo much for such an amazing experience filled with such special moments!!! Helen, you're a star! Unique cottage design with lots of windows & a super kitchen. Ocean view and beach front make a great place to kayak, walk and an evening fire. Neptunes Rise is private & quiet, & only 5 min drive from Shelburne.
We had a restful and relaxing holiday at the cottage. Shelburne is such a pretty spot... We wish we could stay longer.
Great house, great beach
My family, including kids aged 2-11, spent a week at this lovely beach house. Sanderling Beach House was well appointed with all the amenities we needed. The owners have done a wonderful job creating a beautiful home that is very comfortable and welcoming. It might just be the perfect beach house. Even lovelier than the house, though, was the location, which is every bit as spectacular as the pictures suggest. We spent hours combing the beach, building sand castles and enjoying the view and the sounds of the ocean. It was great for our kids to disconnect from screens for a while. They didn't even miss them! Our cell phone reception was spotty, but after some initial separation anxiety from our blackberries, it was nice to really decompress! We explored Shelburne (lovely) and Liverpool (also interesting, though next time I'd skip the Rossignol Cultural Centre). The owners left some information about local restaurants and while we didn't try them all, we did like the ones we went to, and in particular, Charlotte Lane in Shelburne. All in all, a great week in a beautiful home on a spectacular beach! |

Guestbook"We enjoyed our stay at the rustic and quaint Sea star cottage in July. There was more than enough room for our family of five. Importantly, the Wi-Fi worked well for our kids :) Having laundry and all the amenities of a regular home made our stay comfortable. The location is very quiet, and the grounds around the home are almost park-like, with mature apple trees and a well-kept lawn. There is a nice walk down the pathway through the back field to the rocky shoreline. The night skies were full of bright stars; I was able to photograph the Milky Way with ease.Carter's Beach is an easy 10-minute walk down the road, but the area is also central to other beautiful beaches, with shopping (and a great skate park) in Liverpool, only 15 minutes' drive away. Locally we had a good take-out dinner from the Seascape restaurant just down the road. Overall our stay was very enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to recommend it as a perfect vacation home for a family." Ian & Jessica, Halifax, Canada |
