Guest Testimonials We enjoyed our stay at the rustic and quaint Sea Star cottage in July. There was more than enough room for our family of five. Importantly, the Wi-Fi worked well for our kids :) Having laundry and all the amenities of a regular home made our stay comfortable. The location is very quiet, and the grounds around the home are almost park-like, with mature apple trees and a well-kept lawn. There is a nice walk down the pathway through the back field to the rocky shoreline. The night skies were full of bright stars; I was able to photograph the Milky Way with ease.
Carter's Beach is an easy 10-minute walk down the road, but the area is also central to other beautiful beaches, with shopping (and a great skatepark) in Liverpool, only 15 minutes' drive away. Locally we had a good take-out dinner from the Seascape restaurant just down the road.
Overall our stay was very enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to recommend it as a perfect vacation home for a family. Maybe we are the first Sandy Lane cottage renters to write about this beautiful cottage, if so, I'll write some things I'm sure will become redundent soon. What a breathless perfect place. The building, views, breeze, wildlife and BEACH! WOW! It is humbling to experience a place where such care and passion has been placed to create a sanctuary in a rare and delicate envrionment. Thanks to the owners and Sandy Lane for the wonderful opportunity to experience it!
As beautiful place as we've ever seen, and so quiet! (if you don't count wind, flapping wings and chattering squirrels). We loved Sand Hills and Shelburne - Chester was a bit too precious. Nova Scotians were so friendly and outgoing. But most of all we loved the unimpaired abiility here to relax and reflect.
What a beautiful spot! The hosts have thought of everything. Fully equipped kitchen, beautiful decor, spectacular view. We would stay at Summerset Cottage again and again. Highly recommended!!

Reserve your Cottage!1. Choose Your CottageTo check in with us, simply review the vacation rental and cottage listings in the Our Properties Section; and determine which ones best fit your needs. You can search the cottages either alphabetically, or you can narrow down your search by using the search function to the right. 2. Check AvailabilityOnce you have determined which vacation rental property works best for you, take a look at the availability calendar to see if it is available for the weeks you are interested in. Scroll to the bottom of the listing to find that calendar and the rates. 3. Reserve The CottageTo reserve your Nova Scotia vacation cottage rental or accommodation online, simply complete the “Make a Reservation” form – click on the icon at the top of the list on the left hand column. 4. Sign the Rental AgreementOnce we have received your completed vacation or cottage rental Reservation Request, we will verify cottage availability and rate and e-mail you the Rental Agreement as a pdf document. Your full mailing address is required to prepare the Rental Agreement. 5. ConfirmationOnce we have received the Agreement and the credit card details or payment by cheque or email transfer, we will process the deposit and send you confirmation via email and details about when the final payment is due. 6. Information PackageUpon final payment a reservation information package including Nova Scotia driving directions, cottage rules and; instructions on where to find the key is sent via email. |
