The cottage was charming and very well euipped! We had some fabulous day trips and wonderful dinners at Charlotte's Lane and The Quarterdeck!!
We had a lovely time and so enjoyed the property. The weather was perfect and the beach and sea yielded many treasures. The only problem is that we have to leave but we'll take many good memories with us.
We had a wonderful time here in Nova Scotia. We tried swimming at Crescent Beach - way too cold but found some warm water for the kids to enjoy at Roseway Beach. Our son enjoyed catching mackerel off the pier and our daughter enjoyed picking up sea shells off the shore line. Thanks a million for a great holiday.
An amazing place! We couldn't ask for a more beautiful location to spend our honeymoon. This was exactly what we were looking for. We will alsways treasure the time we spent here at Castaway Ocean Lodge.

An Affordable Family VacationConcerned about the economy? Need a holiday? Want more than a “backyard vacation”? Not sure if you can afford it?Look no further! At Sandy Lane Vacation Rentals we offer the perfect solution for a quality family vacation at a price that won’t break the bank. All of our Nova Scotia cottages are privately located, spacious, fully furnished, well equipped, clean and affordable. Our vacation homes range from $1,000 to $3,000 a week. That’s $140 to $450 per night for the whole family! At that rate, the accommodation cost of your holiday is the least of your worries. It is practically impossible to find comparable rates at holiday resorts or hotels. Vacation spending adds up quickly when you factor in restaurants, entertainment and travel. It is hard to resist the clever marketing gimmicks of glitzy restaurants, expensive entertainment and the souvenir shops that line the streets of resort towns. We do not have this problem in Nova Scotia! A Nova Scotia cottage vacation is not about spending money on entertainment and shopping. It is about enjoying your surroundings and people who are with you. There is a lot to do and much of it is free. Pack a picnic, bring a book and some sand toys and spend the day relaxing on one of our many beautiful beaches where there are no concession stands or tacky touristy shops vying for your dollar. Take a daytrip to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lunenburg; visit the Lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove. Take a scenic drive along the coast. Hike the Keji trail. Spend a day in Halifax. Go out for dinner, or simply stay at home and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage. Watch the seabirds soar overhead, listen to the waves, have a beach bonfire. Reconnect with your family without the distractions of modern life. So take a look at our wide selection of oceanfront houses and consider a Nova Scotia cottage rental for this year’s family holiday. With so many to choose from you are bound to find something to suit your family. See you on the beach! |
