Secluded yet accessible and close to Lockeport and Shelburne. Home was clean, comfortable, and enjoyed by our entire family. Pet friendly was an added bonus. Highly recommend this cottage.
We fell in love with the ocean and the family of seals. This is a perfect spot to get away and relax. Despite the lengthy drive, we highly recommend going whale watching on Brier Island in the Zodiacs. Francis Louis House is a very cozy and comfortable cottage. We would love to retire here. Thank you for letting us stay here!
Fantastic beach, nice neighbors, Bright View Cottage is a great place to unwind and play board games with the kids and star gaze on the balcony with a glass of wine at night!

LunenburgDescriptionLunenburg is one of the best surviving examples of a planned British colonial settlement in North America. Founded and established in 1753, the town is named in honour of the Duke of Braunschweig-Lüneburg who later became King George II of England in 1727. Lunenburg has retained its original layout and overall appearance, based on a rectangular grid pattern drawn up in the home country. The plans were created without regard to local topography, which is why Lunenburg's streets are always straight and sometimes dizzyingly steep. If you are of limited mobility or are pushing a heavy stroller, it may be too much for you. Historic homes and buildings that date back to the 1700s have been renovated and now house restaurants, shops and galleries. The extraordinary preservation of the Town's architecture earned it the designation of an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. There is plenty to do in Lunenburg. Go for a horse and buggy ride around the town or take a walking tour; have a lobster lunch or take a fishing charter. Make sure you set aside time to visit the Fisheries Museum. There are plenty of excellent restaurants.LocationLunenburg is approximately an hour and a half drive from Shelburne (125 km/78 miles) a 50 minute drive from Liverpool (60 km/38 miles) and an hour and 15 minutes from Halifax (95 km/60 miles).AddressLunenburgGoogle Map |
