Guest Testimonials

This fantastic house is perfect for getting away from it all, without going far from conveniences. With the sound of the surf and a fabulous view of the salt marsh, one can relax and recharge. Summerset Cottage is equipped with anything you might need, in a stylish and modern style. The space is roomy and comfortable. The large yard, with patio and fire pit was perfect for watching wildlife (we saw a Great Blue Heron, deer, a fox and many water fowl), playing lawn games or roasting s’mores.

 A Little Piece of Paradise
The Castaway Ocean Lodge was more than I ever expected. I rented this beautiful cottage as a getaway for my friends. It was more than I could have dreamed of. I left this place feeling 100% refreshed. Can't wait to go back again. The place was easy to find and the owners thought of everything you might need right down to bathrobes. The scenery is breath taking. I enjoyed the quiet mornings out on the deck with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise.

A bit of heaven in Nova Scotia
"Orchard Point" is a total escape from the rapid pace of life today. Beauty, privacy, and tranquility describe the experience. The home is tastefully appointed, clean, and very comfortable. We found everything we needed. Every sunrise and sunset made us reach for our cameras. We enjoyed exploring the pristine coast. Another benefit was the relative proximity of Shelburne with excellent places to eat and a full supermarket. Overall, we had one of the most relaxing vacations ever and would surely go back.

Castaway Ocean Lodge is away from it all in the most tranquill, idyllic spot in Nova Scotia! Our first view of your beautiful home was breathtaking and we've enjoyed every minute. Watching humming birds feeding, woodpeckers on the sateliite dish and Ospreys has been briliant. We've explored hidden coves and inlets from Peggy's Cove right dwon the South Shore to Yarmouth. We also visited Digby; the scallops were great! Driving through Kejimkujik we saw deer. The weather has been so good to us too; sunshing every day apart from Monday and even then it was really warm. Thank you so much.

Description

Louis Head Beach is one of our favourite beaches.  It is a glorious golden crescent beach that stretches for over 2 miles. The sandy beach and protected cove make it an ideal launching area for kayaking.

Home to the endangered Piping Plover, dogs should be leashed during the nesting and hatching season in late June and early July.

Location

The nearest cottage to this beach is:
Sanderling Beach House - this cottage is right on the beach
To get to the beach take Exit 23, HWY 103 continue along this road until you come to a fork in the road.  Take the left fork following signs to Louis Head Beach and Little Harbour.  Turn left on to Ferry West Road.  The beach is at the end of the road.
