Castaway Ocean Lodge is away from it all in the most tranquill, idyllic spot in Nova Scotia! Our first view of your beautiful home was breathtaking and we've enjoyed every minute. Watching humming birds feeding, woodpeckers on the sateliite dish and Ospreys has been briliant. We've explored hidden coves and inlets from Peggy's Cove right dwon the South Shore to Yarmouth. We also visited Digby; the scallops were great! Driving through Kejimkujik we saw deer. The weather has been so good to us too; sunshing every day apart from Monday and even then it was really warm. This is a wonderful house on a wonderful North Atlantic beach. Sanderling Beach House is just perfect, thousand times better than the pictures can show. Spotlessly clean, well built, well equipped, very spacious, full of taste. Right on the beach yet very private, as the beach is hardly shared with anybody else, if not for the 8 sandpipers which are among the very few left in Canada, the seagulls, and the sight of the seals. We were so lucky to have perfectly dark night with millions of stars, shooting stars, clear water, and beach fires. And yes there are bugs, and they sting you, but this is a little price to pay for the wilderness of untouched beauty. |

DescriptionThis newly built cabin combines the efficiency of modern design with the charm and character of a traditional log home. Constructed from large honey brown logs, and featuring an open-concept kitchen, living / dining room and two bedrooms, the atmosphere is both spacious and warm. Both bedrooms have patio doors that open up onto the deck. The bedrooms have queen size beds; log bedside tables and plenty of closet space. The cabin comes equipped with a four-piece bath.At the heart of this Nova Scotia log home has a floor to ceiling field stone, wood-burning fireplace. Two sets of sliding patio doors lead out from the living room onto a large wooden deck that spans the length and breadth of the cabin and takes full advantage of its beautiful oceanfront view. Patio furniture and propane BBQ complete the picture and make for comfortable outdoor living. Walk down from the deck, soak in the hot tub and roast marshmallows over the open fire in the fire pit.
