The house is in a wonderful location and is very comfortable. Our boys had a great time on the beach despite the lack of sunshing and I managed to read three novels (a holiday record!). The house has everything you might need. We saw seals out in the bay as well as a humming bird and red squirrel. All in all a perfect week despite the weather.
Sapphire Cottage had a great view of the water and lovely decor, our daughter really enjoyed the daybed.
We had a wonderful time at our cottage. The ocean view with seals and sea birds was exceptional. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you Helen and John for giving us a very relaxing vacation.
We were 2 seniors, 1 adult, 1 child, staying three nights at Neptune’s Rise. The cottage is clean, modern, perfect amount of space for us. The upper level has a lovely kitchen, half bath and lounging area. There is a little perfect deck off of the kitchen to watch the ocean. Walking down a little path takes you to a pebbly beach to explore. We did not go into the ocean, but you certainly can. We saw deer and loads of heron.
There are two beaches we went to nearby: Cresent and Roseway. They were spectacular. Everything in Shelburne was closed tight due to Covid restrictions, but we shopped at Sobeys and enjoyed ice cream at Mo’s, which was fun.
The lower level of the cottage has two nice sized bedrooms and a huge bathroom. Loads of towels and comfy linens. There is a single trundle bed under the stairs. The blinds in both bedrooms did not keep the early sunrise out, so my daughter was early to rise, but that’s a normal summer issue. One bedroom only had a single window that opened so that could get quite warm. Bring a fan.
The breeze off of the ocean was amazing. There was loads of fun crafts and games. The house was comfortable, very private and a perfect getaway for us. We did not use the paddle boards as I could not find ankle straps for them. There was a big drawer of life jackets which was nice.
Highly recommended. |

During the early part of this century the shop employed five to seven men and produced 350 dories per year. The museum has a workshop where Dories are still built to this day (albeit not in such large quantities!). Amenities

Stunning views from the loft over looking the ocean!"Stephanie, Elmira, Canada, 2022 "This is a lovely piece of land and a great cottage with everything that you need. You can enjoy kayaking and paddle right to a lovely, secluded beach. Enjoy coffee on the deck with beautiful views. The cottage has everything you could need and is quite modern. Great kitchen for cooking and all the bedrooms were super comfortable. We saw rabbits and deer, and tons of birds. This is a very private get away -- and you will not hear a car or other people from the cottage." Jamie, Halifax, Canada, 2021 |
