The location is ideal for day trips to different areas on Nova Scotia's south shore, and is handy to a number of parks and bird sanctuary areas. We arrived at Sanderling Beach House early afternoon and were overwhelmed by the wonderful beach. The house is perfect; the beach even more so. The seals were elusive but we did manage to see them every day. We made some day trips, had some beach dys, water was frigid, and managed a round of golf at River Hills in Clyde River. On the front 9, the view of the river is beautiful but it was the scenery on the 11th and 15th that was breath taking. We loved our stay here, the views, the isolation of the cottage and the friendliness of the people we have encountered on our travels.
This property is amazing. It is private and secluded but near to amenities in Barrington Passage. The house was very comfortable and fully equipped. We hated to leave and will be back again in the future!
This property is a very special place. Amazing views, beautiful home, comfortable, quiet and private. We had a hard time leaving it even to go on our day tours. We loved the fresh air and breeze and the sound of the fog horn in the distance. We enjoyed take out seafood from Shelburne. Thank you.

On a warm summers night, a young girl looks for seashells as the sun sets over Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach.
At low tide you can walk out to the lighthouse.

DescriptionThe Sandy Point Lighthouse Beach is a tidal beach that grows in size as the tide ebbs. At low tide a glistening stretch of golden sand links the Sandy Point Lighthouse to the shoreline. The shallow waters, rock pools and proximity to the Sandy Point Community Centre (for snacks and washrooms) makes this a very popular beach with local families. Our sons, love it there - it is always their first choice. For them there are sand castles to build, seashells, starfish and other treasures to be found. And the fact that it is an 8-minute drive from the center of Shelburne makes it very convenient.
