Guest Testimonials

We shared the cottage, a beautiful setting for a week with my sister and her children. Four cousins played, enjoyed and connected. We love the setting, the beautiful rocks and view of the ocean. The day trips to Luneneburg, Peggy's Cove and the beaches calmed and re-energized. We truly enjoyed our time here. The blueberry patch was awsome! We hope to be back soon.

WOW - What a scenic log cabin - we could have stayed here all week, but we enjoyed the lighthouse tours - so many wonderful villages with a different offerings.  The hot tub at Castaway Ocean Lodge was most enjoyable as well as the outdoor fire pit.  We did roast marshmallows - felt like we were at camp again.

Thanks so very much for opening this amazing "house-with-a-view!" Sanderling Beach House is utterly amazing! The design totally allows every room to enjoy and celebrate the beauty of its surroundings. Thank you for the special things you've allowed us to use in your home, too; from the fine sheets and towels to quilts and good (Henckel's) knives. Great job! Those things really enhanced our stay. We will definitely be back! Nature's beauty was amazing! Spectacular! Unbelievable!

Ross-Thomson House

Description

Ross-Thomson House and Store Museum allows you to travel back to 1780s Nova Scotia and the recently settled town of Shelburne in the South Shore region. Here, thousands of Loyalist refugees began new lives after the American War of Independence. In this historic store, seasoned merchants George and Robert Ross carried on an international trade in tea, coffee, rum, port and wine, while offering both necessities and luxuries to the town's residents. Greet the clerk and step up to the counter stocked with the kind of goods the Ross Brothers once bartered and sold. Spend some time inside their living quarters, furnished in the sparse but elegant style of the period, and visit the Militia Room above the shop where you might meet a 1780s militia guard.
