Guest Testimonials

Castaway Ocean Lodge was a honeymoon haven for us on our first trip to Nova Scotia; a wonderful way to start married life. Some highlights included basking in the hot tup, kayaking round the bay, morning coffee on the decking with the resident heron, a visit from a raccoon who tapped the window when watching tv! Great food in the Beandock Cafe and Quarter Deck Grill and beaches and walks and much, much more. Castaways was a special place for us. We loved it.

Spent a wonderful 5 days at the cottage. Thank you for sharing your amazingly designed house situated in such beautiful surroundings. Clearly a lot of thought and love went into designing and building this place. Also, the sound system is fantastic and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. We hope to return in the future.

What a beautiful spot! The hosts have thought of everything. Fully equipped kitchen, beautiful decor, spectacular view. We would stay at Summerset Cottage again and again. Highly recommended!!

We had a great stay at the cottage. The house itself is spacious and clean, and in a lovely secluded spot a few minutes walk to the water. Our kids had a great time wading in the ocean water and skipping rocks. The area was also great - we visited a few beaches all within 10-30min drive and they were amazingly beautiful and empty! We would definitely stay again!
