Guest Testimonials

Arrived 1 day late in the wake of Hurricane Earl but our cottage was certanily worth the wait. What a lovely, well equipped cottage and gorgeous view! Thank you Helen and John for your concern about our safe arrival.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage and in Shelburne!  The only bad thing is to leave!  We can't wait to come back.

We enjoyed our stay at the rustic and quaint Sea Star cottage in July. There was more than enough room for our family of five. Importantly, the Wi-Fi worked well for our kids :) Having laundry and all the amenities of a regular home made our stay comfortable. The location is very quiet, and the grounds around the home are almost park-like, with mature apple trees and a well-kept lawn. There is a nice walk down the pathway through the back field to the rocky shoreline. The night skies were full of bright stars; I was able to photograph the Milky Way with ease.

Carter's Beach is an easy 10-minute walk down the road, but the area is also central to other beautiful beaches, with shopping (and a great skatepark) in Liverpool, only 15 minutes' drive away. Locally we had a good take-out dinner from the Seascape restaurant just down the road.

Overall our stay was very enjoyable, and I would not hesitate to recommend it as a perfect vacation home for a family.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Summerset Cottage is lovely and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Will miss the beautiful view from the back deck!

Summerville Beach

Blue skies, white sands and rolling waves all make for a perfect day at the beach.
Sand in my toes on Summerville Beach.
With umbrellas and picnics, families head to the beach for a day of fun in the sun.
We were not the only ones enjoying the beach.

Description

Sheltered picnic areas with washrooms and changing rooms, a sandy shoreline and sand dunes in the background make this beach an ideal daytime destination. If you don't want to pack a picnic, head over to The Quarterdeck restaurant over looking the beach and check out their varied menu.

This beach is a nesting area for Piping Plovers so visitors are requested to keep to the designated paths during the nesting season.

Other

This past August (2011), we spent a fantastic family day at Summerville Center Beach and Provincial Park.  The weather was perfect.  Blue skies with little white puffs of clouds floating overhead.  Bright sun shimmering off the waves.

Sam and Max were in their element - soaking wet and covered in sand.  True to his creative character, Sam decided to try his winter sled out as a boogie board.  Amazingly, it worked really well.  The waves were perfect for a beginner boogie boarder.  Large enough to be exciting, without being too big to be worrying for me!

For me, there is nothing more relaxing than a day on the beach.  The fresh air and sunshine do wonders to rejuvenate my spirit.
