Summerville Beach Provincial Park
Summerville Beach Provincial Park is one of the most popular beaches in along the South Shore. Its not hard to understand why. The beach is about 1km (1/2 mi) long with soft white sands, gentle waves and clear and turquoise water. The beach is backed by sand dunes and a saltmarsh that flows into the ocean at the far end.
A few years ago we spent a memorably family day at Summerville Beach Provincial Park. The weather was perfect. Blue skies with little white puffs of clouds floating overhead. Bright sun shimmering off the waves. Our children, who were you at the time were in their element – soaking wet and covered in sand. The waves were perfect for a beginner boogie boarder. Large enough to be exciting, without being too big to be worrying for me! For me, there is nothing more relaxing than a day on the beach. The fresh air and sunshine do wonders to rejuvenate my spirit.
Facilities include parking, changing rooms and toilets. If you don’t want to bring a picnic, the Quarterdeck restaurant over looks the beach.
This beach is a nesting area for Piping Plovers so visitors are requested to keep to the designated paths during the nesting season.
