Castaway Ocean Lodge
Log Cabin with Hot Tub
Details
Castaway Ocean Lodge combines the efficiency of modern design with the charm and character of a traditional log cabin. Constructed from large honey brown logs, and featuring an open-concept kitchen, living / dining room and two bedrooms, the atmosphere is both spacious and warm. At the heart of this oceanfront log home is a floor to ceiling field-stone fireplace. Both bedrooms have patio doors that open out onto the deck. The bedrooms have queen size beds; log bedside tables and plenty of closet space. The cabin has a four-piece bath.
On either side of the fireplace, sliding patio doors lead out from the living room onto a large wooden deck. Spanning the length and breadth of the cabin, the deck takes full advantage of its beautiful oceanfront view. Patio furniture and propane BBQ complete the picture and make for comfortable outdoor living. Walk down from the deck, soak in the hot tub and roast marshmallows over the open fire in the fire pit.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I have stayed at Castaway Ocean Lodge with my family on more than one occasion. So, I am very familiar with the property.

Reviews
“Beyond Our Wildest Dreams!”
This was our first visit to Nova Scotia and Castaway Ocean Lodge. It went beyond our wildest dreams! Our first morning we saw a whale in the bay which made it more special. We used the kayaks and boat; did some walking and it was just Fab! We shall be back again 1 week just isn’t long enough. We recommend going whale watching at Tiverton in Zodiac. We saw a right whale, which was just excellent! Thanks
“A Beautiful and Solid House”
Thank you for sharing Castaway Ocean Lodge with us. It’s good to see a beautiful and solid house like that in Nova Scotia. We enjoyed the hot tub in the full moon light; went kayaking and swimming in the ocean, etc.
“A Special Place For Us”
Castaway Ocean Lodge was a honeymoon haven for us on our first trip to Nova Scotia; a wonderful way to start married life. Some highlights included basking in the hot tub, kayaking round the bay, morning coffee on the deck with the resident heron, a visit from a raccoon who tapped the window when watching TV! Great food in the Beandock Cafe and Quarter Deck Grill and beaches and walks and much, much more. Castaway was a special place for us. We loved it.
“A Lovely Place”
What a lovely place to spend our week here in Nova Scotia! The view of the harbour is spectacular. We’ve enjoyed a glorious week of Indian Summer travelling along the lighthouse trail. A few favourite sights were Peggy’s Cove and Mahone Bay and the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market in Halifax. Enjoying a soak in the hot tub after driving all day was so relaxing. We had a great week at Castaway Ocean Lodge!
