An amazing place!  We couldn't ask for a more beautiful location to spend our honeymoon.  This was exactly what we were looking for.  We will alsways treasure the time we spent here at Castaway Ocean Lodge.

We have enjoyed a very relaxing week in Moose Harbour Cottage. It was a great base for us to explore Nova Scotia and we have got lots of good memiories and photos to take home with us.  You have managed to make our first trip to Canada amazing and we are already planning when we might be able to come back.

Description

This charming Nova Scotia vacation home offers comfortable living in a delightful small town where the air is fresh and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.

The Old Parsonage is full of original character and traditional charm with large windows, elegant rooms, honey-coloured hard wood floors and tall baseboards. Purchased a few years ago, the house is being lovingly restored to its former glory.

A charming century home, the main floor consists of a large comfortable living room, a formal dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, and two-piece bathroom. Upstairs is a second (4-piece) bathroom and three bedrooms two of which have double beds while the third has a 3/4 bed.

Outside the back garden is spacious with a large lawn – perfect for a game of tag or Frisbee. A deck overlooking the garden is the perfect spot for a tasty Seafood BBQ. If cooking is not on the agenda then stroll into town and have a delicious meal at the Parrot’s Pins or the White Gull overlooking the harbour.

Escape the hustle and bustle of city living and experience the unhurried pace of village life: where you will become part of the community, stopping to chat to your neighbor, enjoying an unhurried stroll on the beach, or taking the children to play in the local park.

So, breathe in the fresh sea air and feel yourself relaxing into the peaceful Nova Scotia rhythm of life.

Location

The Old Parsonage is located in the picturesque town of Lockeport on Nova Scotia’s South Shore a 2 minute walk to the beautiful Crescent Beach.

Originally chosen for its proximity to rich fishing grounds, Lockeport was settled in 1761 by the enterprising Dr. Jonathan Locke and Josiah Churchill. During the heyday of the fishing industry, it was one of the most prosperous towns along the South Shore. Today the town is known for its stunning location. An island adjoined to the mainland by a scimitar of white sand, Lockport boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Over a mile long, Crescent Beach has a distinctive charm. Shielding the inner harbour from the force of the Atlantic, the beach stretches like a protective arm keeping the town safe from the advances of the surf.

Should you wish to explore, the historic town of Shelburne with its shopping and restaurants is about 25 minutes away. Liverpool with its Privateering heritage is 45 minutes drive; while the UNESCO World Heritage town of Lunenburg is 1.5 hrs away to the east. The Acadian Village in Pubnico is about an hour to the west; while the ferry terminal in Yarmouth is just over 1hours drive. Halifax International Airport is 2.5 hours drive.
